A JOURNEY BEGINS WITH THE FIRST STEP…….
This year our primary focus is improving the quality of our entire organization, and particularly the quality of the effort that we make to achieve our goals!
Home of Life Community Development Corporation (HLCDC) embraces the spirit of strengthening and empowering families, parents and children by encouraging the family spirit that will make our communities stronger, and by serving as an advocate for the programs and strategies that safeguard the lives and protect the rights of children.
Home of Life has two locations and many partner to accommodate and provide program services.
Location # 1: 4647 West Washington Blvd. this facility serves 120 clients.
Location # 2: 4650 West Madison Street this facility serves 175 clients. The children receives nurturing through various programs housed at these facilities such as Headstart, infants and toddlers, early childhood, school age, mentoring, after school, job training and placement for young adults ages 14-through seniors.
To meet the needs of this community, HLCDC added two new Headstart classrooms, expanded our youth services program and added financial services job training & placement program. This program is the first of its kind that’s certified through The City of Chicago Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development. We have established partnership with credentials professionals such as Williams Johnson, New York Insurance, and Marty Miller who has many credentials and Certified in Insurance, Angel De Jesus our Management Information Systems staff! We have hired additional teachers and teacher assistants. Welcome! The Financial Services Program will service and place additional 200 students in jobs! To provide this program the home much needed to reach the outlined goals and objectives, the Board of Directors has given approval to construct a three level facility at 4606 West Monroe. The facility will include a library, two computer labs, game/activity room, several classrooms, full kitchen, gym with exercise equipment and accessible parking space.
As our journey begin, we must maintain sound and responsible business policy and practice with our mission to promote the efficient delivery of quality service to our clientele.
We must increase fund raising activities in order to supplement lost revenues, paying particular attention to expanding our donor base and to planned giving.
We must continue to seek revenue sources to expand our program services, develop and implement more effective marketing strategies for our services.
We must continue to develop and implement proactive and innovative programs and services, which meet the needs of our clients and society.
While the journey that all of us at Home of Life are about to take is one which will test our abilities, our resilience, and our capabilities as individuals and as an organization, it is also a journey which will offer us many new opportunities for growth, development and many new occasions for service to our clients.
