Division Director’s Report

OUR PAST AND PRESENT PLAN

HLCDC Development II and Just For You daycare programs has worked over the past 6 1/2 years to provide sufficient services for children and parents. Home of Life continues to offer Headstart, State Pre-K, childcare in school age, school age and toddlers programs.

We are deemed to be one of the best service providers for children and adults in Chicago’s inner city and will continue to improve our services to the community and our daycare. Our services are constantly monitored by city, state and federal agencies to ensure that the needs of all our children are holistically meet.

Our Management Team provides on going Training of Fiscal Operation to support our staff in the implementation of the curriculum and in the provision of all the required services to children and toddlers as well as utilizing all the resources available in our community for training of our staff.

We recognize each child as an individual whose gender, ability differences, personal privacy, choice of activities, cultural ethnic and religious background should at all times be respected.

The facility provides activities geared toward age level and developmental needs of the children served and we ensured this by showing daily program activities which are posted on the facility boards and classrooms.

OUR PROGRAM PLANNING PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING:

Program planning so that the children are not always required to move from one to another as a total group.

We provide a balance of active and quiet activities.

We provide sufficient time for activities so that the children can manage them and progress on their own developmental level.

Daily indoor and outdoor activities in which children make use of both large and small muscles.

Sufficient age appropriate equipment.

Smooth transition from one activity to another to avoid long waiting periods between activities and prolonged periods during which the children must stand and sit.

Provide for privacy through arranging a small, quiet area that is easily accessible to the child who seeks or needs time to be alone.

We offer a healthy nutrition diet as required by state; this is monitored on a daily basis.

Occasional trips and activities away from the facility.

A supervised nap or rest period for children.

OUR FUTURE PLAN

This year we are planning more involvement with the parents in the planning of curriculum and partnership for our children. We have parent meetings regarding their children, providing training to parents in how they can be part of their children’s education. In order to meet the needs of the community Home Life Community Development Corporation (HLCDC) has added two new Headstart classrooms and expanded our youth service program.

OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVE

HLCDC embraces the Spirit of strengthening and empowering facilities, parents and children by encouraging the family Spirit that will make our community stronger.

We advocate for programs and strategies that safeguard the lives and protect the rights of children.

Home of Life will continue to have two locations and many partners to accommodate and provide program services.
